Teacher's Assistant- Preschool & Kindergarten

I've been with Oakridge Montessori for one year and am loving this opportunity to work with children in such a loving space. I am the assistant in Miss Aimee’s class. I have lived in town my whole life. I sought work in Montessori because I appreciate how it integrates real world skills from such a young age. I love the small school setting that allows me to build relationships with teachers and students as well as being able to create personalized teaching strategies to help the kids succeed. My full Montessori teaching certification will begin this fall. Before coming to Oakridge I worked in infant care.

Qualifications:

-30 hours STAR training certification through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) MERIT system

-Trained as a medical assistant and is certified in sterile processing

-Annual continuing education and professional hours are fulfilled through state-approved early learning frameworks like the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) MERIT system

-Annual continuing education by attending the American Montessori Society’s (AMS) conference; known for being the world's largest gathering of Montessori educators, researchers, and school leaders
