Lead Teacher- Preschool & Kindergarten

Hi everyone! I am Miss Lisa, the lead teacher in Room 1. I have been with Oakridge Montessori School for 28 years. Before I started working for Oakridge, I ran an in-home childcare for 10 years. I first heard of Montessori when I enrolled my oldest in a Montessori School. From there, I started incorporating Montessori work with the children in my care. That is when I realized that I love teaching children and watching them grow and learn.

Qualifications:

-Montessori Children’s House certification (ages 3–6) through the American Montessori Society (AMS) an accredited program by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE)

-Annual continuing education and professional hours are fulfilled through state-approved early learning frameworks like the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) MERIT system

-Annual continuing education by attending the American Montessori Society’s (AMS) conference; known for being the world's largest gathering of Montessori educators, researchers, and school leaders
